To this end, the participants of the events were presented with exciting examples from Berlin, Germany and Accra, Ghana. Karen Laßmann from the Senate Chancellery Berlin described how the city of Berlin succeeded in involving citizens in the development of its own smart city strategy. William Senyo, co-founder and CEO of Impact Hub Accra shared his experiences from a civil society perspective in transforming the Osu Ako Adjei region into Accra’s innovation district and vibrant hub for entrepreneurs and creative thinkers.
In addition, the ISCN partners exchanged views on the progress and further process of the development and implementation of the digital solution „Mi Mercado AMG“ in the metropolitan region of Guadalajara, Mexico. Inputs were provided by Sandra Sarahí Aguirre, International Cooperation Analyst at the Institute for Development Planning and Management (IMEPLAN) in Guadalajara and Elsa Diaz Castro from the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) Gmbh.
