The "Data Strategies for common good-oriented urban development" are the result of an almost one and a half year working process of the National Dialogue Platform Smart Cities and its members. Within the framework of the dialogue platform, around 70 experts came together to further develop the guidelines of the Smart City Charter in an integrated dialogue.The guidelines and recommendations for action now published concretise the Smart City Charter published in 2017. They show how the potential of digitalisation can be used for integrated and sustainable urban development and how the associated challenges and risks can be countered.The aim of these guidelines and recommendations for action is to sensitise the federal government, the federal states and the municipalities to the sustainable and inclusive use of data in the context of common good-oriented urban development and to present the various dimensions of the potential of digitalisation for integrated and sustainable urban development. In seven normative guideline chapters and recommendations for action, this publication shows how the use of data can be consistently implemented for common good-oriented urban development. The guidelines are supplemented by international expert contributions and case studies that provide an insight into the current practice of digitalising urban development.
