You can look forward to the following content:
Pamela Robinson, professor at the School of Urban and Regional Planning at Toronto Metropolitan University will share in a keynote the collaboration her university has established with the city of Toronto through their CivicLabTO and other ways in which students contribute to urban futures.
Sebastian Böhm and Christoph Schubert from the city of Leipzig will follow with a short overview on the various ways in which their city is engaging universities and students for common smart city development.
After these two inputs we want to do a brief interactive session to
a) collect what other alleys exist to leverage synergies between campuses and city administrations and
b) formulate crisp challenges that could be brought forward to students for applying their knowledge and creativity to your real-life contexts as an urban practitioner.
Common good-oriented Smart Cities are a joint effort of many stakeholders and citizens - let’s put the spotlight on campuses for that as well!
