Many cities are working on using digital tools to overcome the challenges of integrated sustainable urban development and improve the quality of life of their residents. In collaboration with the Coordination and Transfer Office Model Projects Smart Cities (KTS), the Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development (BBSR) is researching the impact of digitalisation on the development of cities. How can municipalities exploit the opportunities associated with digitalisation and minimise the risks? How do new technologies contribute to sustainable urban development? Scientific studies, expert opinions and analyses of practical examples address these and many other questions.
