Paragraphs

That followed earlier sessions where participants embraced insightful cases for co-creation and citizen participation at a project level and strategy design for the digital transformation in our cities. In the latest edition of the event series, participants rounded off the topic of digital participation by exchanging on embedded participation in public decision-making and co-creative solution finding.

Our guest speaker Anne-Marie Croce, Chief Innovator of Toronto’s Customer Experience Transformation and Innovation Programme (CXi), shared how customer service initiatives in the Canadian city have been unified to improve its residents‘ experience. Established in 2019, the CXi Programme presented new tools, technology, ideas, as well as open and participatory approaches to address an array of complex challenges. Joining the session, Hal Seki, Co-founder & CEO of Code for Japan reflected on how to embed participation from a civil society perspective. He proposed tools and projects for creating the right space and culture to promote innovative co-creation between citizens and governments. As both inputs have proven, we can better understand and adapt the perspectives of the various city communities, making their needs the main driver for urban policies and interventions. This is a key to achieve a common-good oriented digital transformation in our cities.

In addition, the ISCN partners exchanged views on the progress and further development and implementation of the digital solution „Mi Mercado AMG“ in the metropolitan region of Guadalajara, Mexico.
